CROSSROADS SCHOOL OF THE ARTS

Crossroads School of the Arts is located in Herndon, Virginia.  The conservatory partners with Crossroads Dance Project, a local professional modern dance company. Crossroads School of the Arts offers classes, workshops and summer camps in the classical and classical Sacred Arts including, drama technique, classical ballet, contemporary dance, and the visual arts.   

Our Philosophy: As individual artists we strive to present our art as a form of visual faith, and to unlock the mysteries of the life journey through our choreography, art, and performances.  Inspired by Judeo-Christian theology, our students are taught to challenge themselves and their audience by presenting art that transcends the limits of human intellectualism and reveals masterpieces of eternal truths.

Crossroads School of the Arts is located at the historic McMillen Farm located at 1521 Dranesville Road in Herndon, Virginia, and easily accessed from Herndon Parkway, Fairfax County Parkway, and Route 7/Leesburg Pike. (Some additional classes may be located just down the street at Trinity Presbyterian Church, 651 Dranesville Rd).

SPRING BREAK:  Monday April 9th-Friday April 13th.

Last Day of Classes: Saturday May 5th 

We are currently holding our first CrossRoads Digital Imagineering Class!  Classes are full at this time.  Please stay tuned for upcoming registration! 

2011-2012 DANCE PROGRAM

September 12th - December 10. Classes resume January 9- May 5. (All dance classes at The McMillian Farm/Coomber School of Music).

Chiidren's Ballet 

Beginning Ballet 1 & 2 - Ages 4-6. (Ballet 2- age 5 with one year of ballet or age 6 with no experience)  

Ballet Intermediate - Ages 7-9.  Approximately 2 years of ballet (ages 6 1/2 with experience-inquire). 

Ballet Intermediate Advanced - Ages 9-12. Approximately 2-3 years of ballet.  Ballet and Intro to Modern  Dance.  For students previously in Ballet 4.

Youth Ballet              

Youth Level A (6) - Ages 10 and up.  Approximately 4 years of ballet. For students previously in Ballet 5.  

Youth Level B (6) - Ages 10 and up.  Approximately 4-5 years of ballet.

Youth Level 7 - Advanced; ages 13 and up.  

Youth Company - Preselected, opportunity to dance with Crossroads Dance Project.

DANCE SCHEDULE

Mondays:

4:00-5:10 Ballet Intermediate  -  Teacher: Katy Eurich  

5:20-6:45 Ballet Intermediate Advanced (2nd class offered Fridays, please inquire if interested)  -  Teacher: Katy Eurich

6:55-8:40  Level A & B (6) /7  -  Teacher: Katy Eurich

Tuesdays:

4:15-5:00  Ballet 1/2  -  Teachers: Linda Vorgang, Jordan Vorgang with Katy Eurich guest teacher rotation. 

5:15-7:15  Level 6B/7  -  Teacher rotation: Jill Hughes, Terri Siller, Lisa Pinkham and Guest Teacher.  Classes include ballet and modern dance technique.

Fridays:  

4:00-6:00   Open Class, Intermediate Advanced Level, ages 11 and up.  This class is open to students ages 11 and up that can keep up with an int/adv ballet class. The two hours will include ballet technique, pointe and pre-pointe,  along with a blend of modern dance and contemporary ballet.  -  Teacher: Katy Eurich
